The UP-D899MD is a compact A6 black-and-white digital printer and the successor to Sony's UP-898 medical printer series. It delivers high-speed, high-quality black-and-white printing with improved image accuracy, an enhanced user interface/print cutter, and improved environmental friendliness.

The device is capable of producing high-quality black-and-white prints in under 2 seconds. Its advanced thermal printing technology delivers near-photo quality while working with widely available printing media.

Thanks to Sony’s unique technology, paper can be trimmed from both the top and bottom, as the previous top paper cutter has been supplemented by a bottom paper cutter. This allows for flexible installation of the printer in almost any location as well as smooth printing operations.

With a resolution of 301 dpi and 8-bit color gradation (256 levels) for cyan, magenta, and yellow, it delivers high-quality prints in A4 format in just about 76 seconds.
