The e-medic™ computer may be used within the patient environment. However, connected peripheral devices within the patient environment, such as printers or cameras, must either also comply with the requirements of IEC 60601-1 and IEC 60601-1-2 or be additionally equipped with two-stage protection for the patient. This additional protection can be ensured, for example, by means of isolating transformers or isolators in the connecting cable. e-medic™ Silence XS-M Medical Computer (13th Generation) Powerful, Fanless Medical Mini PC With the e-medic™ Silence XS-M Mini PC, we have developed a fanless microcomputer designed for low-maintenance, long-term use in medical settings. Despite—or perhaps precisely because of—its very compact dimensions (134 x 108 x 55 mm), the Silence XS-M is a particularly robust medical PC system. It is one of the smallest mini-computers designed for medical applications. The enclosure nevertheless offers sufficient space for the powerful Intel® Core i5 1335UE processor. The aluminum extrusion housing provides reliable protection against mechanical stress. Tight clearances and special seals make the housing completely dustproof to IP60 standards. All of the electronics inside the mini-PC are located on a single circuit board. There are no cables or unsecured connectors that could come loose due to vibrations. A heat pipe cooling system is attached directly to the black anodized solid aluminum heat sink profile housing. Optional mounting options include a DIN rail mount, wall mount, and VESA mount.
